Background Check Disclosure and Authorization
Read this before starting a background check. It is written to meet the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) and similar state laws.
Disclosure
Volanee, Inc. ("Volanee") may obtain a consumer report about you from a consumer reporting agency (currently Checkr, Inc., 1 Montgomery St, San Francisco, CA 94104, checkr.com) for the purpose of deciding whether you may use the Volanee platform in a role that involves minors or entering private homes. The report may include criminal records, sex offender registry status, and verification of identity, as permitted by law. This is a stand-alone disclosure, separate from the Terms of Service.
Your rights
- You have the right to request a copy of the report and to dispute anything in it directly with the agency.
- Before Volanee takes any adverse action based on the report, you will receive a copy of the report and a summary of your rights under the FCRA, and a reasonable time to respond.
- California, New York, Washington, Minnesota and other states give you additional rights, including the right to a free copy and limits on what may be reported; see the state notices in the check flow.
- Volanee does not use credit information.
Authorization
By checking the boxes in the app you acknowledge that you have read this disclosure, and you authorize Volanee to obtain the report described above, now and at renewal intervals (currently every 12 months) while your account is active. This authorization stays in effect until you withdraw it by closing your account.
